A new photography club, launched today at the request of students, attracted over 20 participants from Key Stage 3 and 4. Students were immediately set the challenge of producing an original photograph taken from an unusual viewpoint. The theme is inspired by the work of Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956).

Rodchenko was a Russian photographer who lived through great change in his country against the backdrop of the Russian Communist Revolution.  He made use of the small cameras that were a technological breakthrough of the time.  These encouraged him to use unusual and dynamic angles to show off his young and emerging country.

The students will be able to share their work in the school's moderated Flickr group.  The club is led by Miss. Green and Mr. Pressnell.
