"Students enjoy being at Arnewood and feel very safe." (OFSTED 2008)

The Arnewood School is a popular 11-19 mixed Academy of about 1200 students. It is situated in New Milton, an attractive small town, south west of the picturesque New Forest and a few minutes drive from Lymington and the south coast. The school was last fully inspected in November 2008. OfSTED judged The Arnewood School as good overall and rated some aspects, including curriculum as outstanding.

We pride ourselves on our high level of academic achievement and caring ethos through which all students are encouraged to fulfil their individual potential. Our guiding principle at The Arnewood School is "aim high". It is a culture that leads teaching at all levels; for example, no fewer than 24 students, from our comprehensive intake, have gained places at Oxford or Cambridge in the last eight years.

We have made a significant investment in recent years in information technology. The school has an innovative family laptop programme that allows students to make use of a personal computer for their learning in school and at home.  The Arnewood School was redesignated with Technology College status in April 2007 and contributes widely to the development of community learning through the provision of adult classes and partnership work with other schools and colleges. In 2008 the school's community provision was recongnised with the presentation of a Future Visions Award by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.

The school's continued programme of building renovation has led to noticeable improvements in the school environment. As well as new library accommodation the school's Sixth Form and Technology facilities are first class. A new multi-gym was provided on site in 2008 and in 2010 improvements were made to the facilities for Expressive Arts. These include a multi-media room with Apple Macs and photographic studio.
