PSHE

Mr Kinnison, Head of Department

These are skills we can take wherever we go in life, no matter what we do.

Intent

The skills we gain in PSHE relates to everything we do. Young people of today live in an ever-changing world. A world that will support them but will also give them problems and challenges which they will need to overcome. The PSHE programme is designed to support pupils though an ever-changing World, to give them the confidence to ask the right questions and know how and where they need to go to gain help and support. The school has a team of staff, from a range of subject areas, who cover a wide range of PSHE areas, backed by outside organisations who support the school and the students. This network works with the pupils to build on their understanding from work started at KS2 through a KS3 programme that builds on their skills and shows them how to stay safe and succeed. It provides them the skills to support and extend their learning at KS4 and on into KS5. PSHE is not an exam / qualification course.
