Required immediately to provide administrative support for the school’s sixth form. The successful applicant will work alongside the Director of Sixth Form and his team to ensure students’ smooth transition from Year 11 to post-16 study. Duties will include provision of daily secretarial support, assistance with attendance and references for colleges and employers. Excellent customer service skills as well as good typing ability is required. The ability to show appropriate discretion and confidentiality is essential. The Arnewood School sixth form is judged OfSTED outstanding with post-16 results. We have a national and local reputation for innovation and excellent achievement.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated non-teaching Assistant Year Head, to join our pastoral team. You will be working with a Year Leader and team of tutors within a given year group. We are looking for an applicant who understands the emotional needs of young people and is able to work with them, their families and outside agencies in order to achieve the best possible academic outcomes. You will be confident in dealing with a wide range of pastoral concerns and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the young people in our care. You will also demonstrate the ability to work with families and external agencies in a positive way. High attendance leads to high academic outcomes and you will be integral to ensuring attendance is both recorded and monitored accurately as well as working with young people and their families should attendance begin to fall.

The Learning Support Department supports students with special needs either within the classroom or within the learning support area. The department provides a positive and safe working atmosphere for some of the school’s more vulnerable children.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working with a committed and enthusiastic team led by the school’s Special Needs Co-ordinator. Experience of working with Education, Health and Care Plans and/or young people would be helpful. Full training will be provided.
