Admissions

Joining The Arnewood School

We welcome applications from families with children attending local primary and junior schools in our pyramid including as well as those from further afield who attend using school or public transport. Our catchment link schools are New Milton Junior School, Ashley Junior School, Hordle C of E Primary School, Bransgore C of E Primary School and Tiptoe Primary School. Other applications are warmly welcome; children who have joined us from schools in Sway, Milford-On-Sea, Burton, and further afield feel equally well looked after.

The school’s admission policy, for the key stage 3 to 4, and key stage 5, can be found in our Admissions Policy on our Policies Page.

Key Stages 3 and 4

The transition between schools can be an exciting time but like any significant change in life can bring with it understandable anxiety. We do all we can to ensure children settle quickly into The Arnewood School and that they are embraced by a caring and highly skilled team who create an environment in which they will flourish. The Year 7 Admissions Student Booklet (the 2024 version will be released in the near future) gives you a feel for how the school operates from a parental perspective.

Applications for Y7 can be made online. Further information can be found on the Hampshire County Council Admissions website page.

Admission Appeals Timetable for Year 7 in September 2024

If you are changing your child’s school part way through Key Stage 3 or 4, or joining us part way through the Sixth Form, we are often able to find courses to fit those previously studied. Our Heads of Year are well versed in caring for new students and enjoy working closely with children and their parents/carers to ease the process of moving between schools.

If you would like to visit the school please contact the Headteacher’s PA and feel free to download our prospectus.

Key Stage 5 – Arnewood Sixth

Applications for sixth form places are made directly to Arnewood Sixth with the application form available online. We welcome external and internal applications from students meeting our published criteria. The standard entry requirement is 5 strong GCSE passes including English and mathematics, although we offer resit places for those who otherwise meet the entry requirement.
