At the Arnewood Sixth Form we don’t believe in gaining excellent exam results through selecting students. Instead we would rather help match students to the right courses and achieve the best with them through inspirational teaching and learning.
Following another unprecedented year for young people, Arnewood Sixth Form students collected their A-Level grades having sat robust mini-assessments in their classroom.
We are incredibly proud of all of our students. Not just for the way in which they have met the specific challenges of the awarding process but by their approach to the pandemic throughout the two years. They have remained fully engaged with their education, have grown as young people and are now preparing to enter the next phase of their lives knowing that they have the resilience, energy and optimism to successfully overcome the most difficult of hurdles.
In this years A Level results two thirds of students gained A*- B (66%), with 44% of students gaining A* – A grades. These fantastic results have been consistently high over many years. Comparisons with national statistics shows that the sixth form adds significant value-added to student performance. This was recognised in our most recent ofsted report (2018), that judged the sixth form to be outstanding. This is testimony to the great efforts of our students and teachers who clearly work as an effective partnership.
