School Uniform – Key Stage 3 and 4

We take great pride in our school uniform and wish to thank parents and carers for following the uniform list provided below. Please speak with your son/daughter’s Head of Year for further guidance if required.

Boys
  • Arnewood School blazer – Maroon, single-breasted*
  • Black polyester/worsted trousers
  • Black school shorts (summer term only) *
  • White-collared school shirt, tucked in
  • Maroon and white school tie showing 11 stripes*
  • Black ‘V’ necked school sweater*
  • Black or grey socks
  • Safe, comfortable, robust black leather or leather-like shoes (foot fully enclosed)
  • Maroon and white school scarf (optional)*
  • Black or maroon Stormstuff (or similar) waterproof, reversible coat (optional)*
Girls
  • Arnewood School blazer – Maroon, single-breasted*
  • Black pleated or flat front, straight leg, ankle length trousers, polyester/wool or viscose, with or without belt
  • Arnewood School pleated skirt worn at knee length
  • White-collared fitted blouse or non-fitted shirt worn tucked in
  • Arnewood School Maroon and white school tie showing 11 stripes*
  • Black tights or white socks with skirts only
  • Safe, comfortable, robust black leather or leather-like shoes (foot fully enclosed)
  • Arnewood School black ‘V’ necked school sweater*
  • Maroon and white school scarf (optional)*
  • Black or maroon Storm stuff (or similar) waterproof, reversible coat (optional)*

Students in all years may now wear a single, small, plain gold or silver stud in their earlobes. Earrings MUST be removed for PE and the use of tape is NOT allowed.

Not allowed
  • Make-up and nail varnish
  • Tattoos, including henna and temporary tattoos
  • Jewellery
  • Piercings
  • High-heeled shoes
  • Trainers/trainer-like shoes e.g. Vans and Converse
  • Canvas shoes
  • Non-school skirts
  • Tight trousers, leggings, jeggings or jeans
  • False nails
  • Extreme hairstyles or colours
Physical Education – Boys and/or Girls As Preferred

PE kit for lessons and extra-curricular is reviewed on a regular basis and is intended to support students learning in practical lessons. Two main PE kit areas of indoor activities and outdoor activities with different variations for boys and girls PE and specialist activities.

Indoor PE kit:
  • Non-marking indoor trainers
  • White sports socks
  • Black shorts (not to be worn in combination with skorts or leggings)*
For girls’ PE:
  • Black skort with Arnewood logo (not to be worn in combination with shorts or leggings)*
  • Black school leggings with Arnewood logo (not to be worn in combination with shorts or leggings)*
  • Fitted maroon school polo with Arnewood logo*
For boys’ PE:

Maroon school polo with Arnewood logo*

Additional Outdoor kit: (Where extreme weather occur lessons are adapted and activities changed to indoor activities in order for practical lessons to continue)

  • Outdoor trainers
  • Maroon football/hockey/rugby socks*
  • Black under armour/layer (long or short sleeved)
  • School maroon winter long sleeved top*
Additional equipment:

Shin pads, studded footwear (suitable for rugby and football on grass), gum shield, Black swimwear and towel.

Please note boys and girls summer shorts should be no longer than knee length.

The Arnewood School understands and respects transgender students. Students in transition are permitted to wear uniform, including PE kit, intended for either gender with written parental permission.
