The Arnewood School is located on the south coast, at the edge of Hampshire’s New Forest. As our trust expands, we require an outstanding school leader to maintain and develop the excellent educational provision of a school which very much sits at the heart of its community.

 

The successful candidate will be highly professional, assuring the highest quality of teaching and learning in this 11-19 co-educational comprehensive Academy, including its vibrant sixth form judged outstanding in 2018. The post holder will be required to demonstrate exceptional ability in developing teaching and learning, and, curriculum design and implementation with impact.

 

You will work successfully with key stakeholders and be an integral member of the Executive Education Team of The Gryphon Multi-Academy Trust. You will be supported by directors, local governors and the trust’s CEO. The strongest candidates will have the ability to quickly gain the confidence of students, staff, parents and local community (including other school leaders) to sustain high achievement. You will offer imaginative approaches to deliver the ambition of the recent White Paper and work to develop effective partnerships with those sharing equal vision.

The Mathematics Department is an established scholarly community, where teachers develop students’ talent in a calm learning environment. Teachers put a large emphasis on success through high-quality explanations and robust practice. We have a detailed curriculum plan and students work at a pace to complete a high-volume of work.

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Mathematics teacher to join our team as we continue on our journey to providing an outstanding education for all in our care. We are dedicated in ensuring all lessons are engaging so that our students are able to thrive. We are committed to all students developing a love of mathematics and a desire to achieve the very best they can. Mathematics is the most popular option subject in our sixth form. We offer Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A Level.

The successful candidate will have a strong and secure knowledge of the GCSE curriculum, in addition they will have a strong understanding of the KS5 curriculum content. The Business Studies, IT and Computer Science department is an established team delivering an organised curriculum for Business Studies, IT and Computer Science which is well planned and resourced. The team develop students’ learning in an open door, calm and purposeful manner acting coherently in their teaching approach and always supporting each other to gain the most from the individual subjects and the individual students.

Teachers put an emphasis on success through high-quality learning using both GCSE and A-Level qualifications with some vocational qualification. For the successful candidate this is a unique opportunity to join a superb team and help shape the department’s future success.

The successful candidate will have a strong and secure knowledge of the Business Studies curriculum. They will have an understanding the importance of supporting the needs of all of the students, whatever their expected attainment level is. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teacher of science to join our Science Department and teach the subject at all levels. This post could suit an ECT as well as a more experienced candidate. You will be working in a very cohesive and supportive department that is committed to providing an innovative and high-quality science education for all of our pupils. We are a strong team that is motivated to achieve positive pupil experiences and outcomes and has a strong history of providing STEM opportunities for students. At GCSE, we teach both AQA Combined Trilogy and AQA Separate Science courses. A specialism in chemistry is desired. The successful candidate will have an affinity with young people and will have a desire to develop the science opportunities available for students.

 

Chemistry is a popular and successful subject in the school, with a 100% pass rate at A2 from 2009 to 2021.

 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to attend chemistry CPD workshops run locally, regionally and nationally, allowing them to continue to develop their own chemical understanding and to further advance their teaching. This post offers an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in teaching across all age levels and abilities as part of the core curriculum, including teaching students in the sixth form.
