The Mathematics Department is an established scholarly community, where teachers develop students’ talent in a calm learning environment. Teachers put a large emphasis on success through high-quality explanations and robust practice. We have a detailed curriculum plan and students work to achieve a strong understanding of Mathematical concepts before moving on. For the successful candidate this is a unique opportunity to join a superb team and shape the department’s future success. The Mathematics department has embarked on a journey to improve student outcomes through a focus on a Mastery approach, whilst reducing workload at every opportunity. We have invested in White Rose Maths, for our curriculum materials and CPD offering, and Sparx and Dr Frost Maths for homework in KS3-4 and 5 respectively. We do not expect books to be marked, but instead focus on timely and effective feedback. We want everyone to have the time and space to improve their skills, whether that is students or staff, and as a department, we will continue to invest in this. .
