The Science department is comprised of 11 passionate scientists, supported by 2 specialist technicians and housed in well-appointed labs. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated teacher of Science to join our Science Department and teach the subject at all levels. This post could suit an ECT as well as a more experienced candidate. You will be working in a very cohesive and supportive department that is committed to providing an innovative and high-quality science education for all of our pupils. We are a strong team that is motivated to achieve positive pupil experiences and outcomes and has a strong history of providing STEM opportunities for students. At GCSE, we teach both AQA Combined Trilogy and AQA Separate Science courses. A specialism in Biology is desirable. The successful candidate will have an affinity with young people and will have a desire to develop the science opportunities available for students

The Mathematics Department is an established scholarly community, where teachers develop students’ talent in a calm learning environment. Teachers put a large emphasis on success through high-quality explanations and robust practice. We have a detailed curriculum plan and students work to achieve a strong understanding of Mathematical concepts before moving on. For the successful candidate this is a unique opportunity to join a superb team and shape the department’s future success. The Mathematics department has embarked on a journey to improve student outcomes through a focus on a Mastery approach, whilst reducing workload at every opportunity. We have invested in White Rose Maths, for our curriculum materials and CPD offering, and Sparx and Dr Frost Maths for homework in KS3-4 and 5 respectively. We do not expect books to be marked, but instead focus on timely and effective feedback. We want everyone to have the time and space to improve their skills, whether that is students or staff, and as a department, we will continue to invest in this.
